Periodic Occupational Health Examination (POHE)

Periodic Occupational Health Examination (POHE)

What is a Periodic Occupational Health Examination

A POHE is a legally required medical examination that you, as an employer, must offer your employees periodically. The examination focuses specifically on the health risks arising from the work and working conditions.

A POHE consists of a targeted questionnaire and physical examination, tailored to the risks identified in your organization or sector in the RI&E. Examples include exposure to noise, physical strain, hazardous substances, or psychosocial stress. The aim is to identify these risks at an early stage and prevent employees from suffering harm as a result.

A well-executed POHE shows that you, as an employer, take your duty of care seriously and support compliance with the Working Conditions Act.
